The Upper Body & Back: Critical Components of Successful Extension - May 17, 2:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Upper body strength is a crucial component for healthy spinal extension. This workshop focuses on Pilates exercises that build strength to support extension. Since many Pilates practitioners are women, accessing the upper body and back can be a challenge. We will look at ways to address these issues, explore common missing links in our upper bodies, focus on increasing upper body strength and find more successful extension.
Low Chair Progressions - May 18, 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Learn how to create exceptional Low Chair classes that will stimulate your teaching, as well as inspire, energize and progress your clients. In this workshop we will approach Pilates Low Chair work in the context of dynamic movement and how to truly access the spring. The “optional” low chair exercises are frequently utilized individually, but we will learn to link them together in sequences that create support throughout the structure, develop a foundational connection through the end points, and facilitate spinal resiliency.
Kelli's Wunda Chair workshop is one of the most practical, easy-to-apply continuing education course I've taken in my 18 years teaching Pilates. You'll walk out of the workshop with a clear plan you can implement your next day in the studio." - Jessica Gowen, Owner/Director, CORE Buckhead
Movement Skills and Teaching Skills classes are unique components of TPC’s approach to instructor education. In Teaching Skills classes, trainees and instructors alike the opportunity to explore how to use their hands, words, voice and energy to empower clients in their Pilates practice. In Movement Skills classes, trainees and instructors have the luxury of exploring and deepening their own personal practice.
