What is Pilates?

Designed around the classical Greek ideal of equally developing mind, body, and spirit, Pilates incorporates elements from both eastern and western approaches to fitness training, including boxing, gymnastics, and the martial arts. Pilates is based on seven guiding principles: breathing, centering, control, concentration, precision, alignment, and flowing movement. These principles guide every exercise to ensure an effective, efficient, and potentially life-changing mind-body experience.

Its status as a favorite fitness method for celebrities and athletes helped Pilates' popularity spread. However, as Pilates has gained popularity, it's also gained "knock off" versions. At CORE, you can rest assured you're getting the real thing.
