"Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness. Our interpretation of physical fitness is the attainment and maintenance of a uniformly developed body with a sound mind fully capable of naturally, easily, and satisfactorily performing our many and varied daily tasks with spontaneous zest and pleasure."

Pilates Mat Classes
In these classes, clients work on the floor using their own bodies for resistance. Because the mat work does not use any equipment to support the body, it is the most challenging part of the Pilates Method. Instructors will integrate the ball, foam roller, therabands and magic circle. Classes run in a 4-8 week session, depending on the time of year. Instructor permission required to enroll in the intermediate or advanced level.
Intro to Pilates:
This class is designed for those who have no previous Pilates experience and those who come to the method with injuries or chronic issues that need to be accommodated for the student to work safely. Students will learn the fundamental principles that underpin the method and learn how to work within their bodies in a safe and effective manner. By the end of the session, students will know the names of and order for the basic mat series. Teachers may elect to use a variety of props (i.e., magic circle, foam roller, ball, theraband) to address client needs. This class is offered on a drop-in basis and has no enrollment minimum.
Beginning Pilates:
The beginning class is designed for students who have limited experience with the Pilates method and for or those who are new to the method and are taking both private and group classes. By the end of the session students will be able to move through the entire beginning mat sequence without stopping. Many clients will take the beginning session more than once in order to develop a solid foundation for moving up to the Intermediate level. Enrollment Requirements: Minimum 6, maximum 12.
Intermediate Pilates:
Intermediate classes will cover more exercises at a faster pace. Teachers will incorporate a variety of props to make the class more challenging. Clients who take the intermediate class will likely stay at the level for an extended period. Enrollment Requirements: Minimum 6, maximum 12.
Advanced Pilates:
The advanced mat class is for strong, healthy clients with extensive Pilates experience. The class moves quickly, and demands that clients can execute the full intermediate repertoire without stopping and without significant modification. Enrollment Requirements: Minimum 6, maximum 12.
