GYROKINESIS® (Various Levels)
Buckhead/Westside
Gyrokinesis® methodology is a yoga-based movement system created by Juliu Horvath, who drew on principles from ballet, swimming, gymnastics, tai chi and acupressure to create this full body workout. Exercises incorporate breath work and all seven elements of spinal movement to systematically stretch and strengthen the body. The rhythmic, fluid movements provide a great workout. You will leave your class feeling longer, stronger, relaxed and invigorated. (10 person maximum)
Pilates for Osteoporosis
Westside
Osteoporosis is the gradual and silent loss of bone and it is not a normal aging process. Osteopenia is mildly reduced bone mass. Unfortunately 10 million Americans have osteoporosis and 34 million have osteopenia. One in 2 American women and 1 in 4 American men over the age of 50 will suffer osteoporosis related fracture in his or her lifetime.
Research has shown that physical exercise can halt the progression of bone loss. Pilates for Osteoporosis and Osteopenia is a safe and effective program. The classes will teach participants how to modify the classical Pilates exercises to make them safe and which moves are contraindicated.
We will emphasize body awareness and axial elongation and focus on the abdominal without using "crunches" which place the spine at risk of fracture.

CORE Basics – Pilates Tower
Buckhead/Westside
Joseph Pilates designed the Tower as a vertical exercise structure his New York-based clients could install into a door frame in their tiny apartments. The Tower gives clients the benefits of working on Pilates apparatus in a group setting. Our Basics class teaches equipment set up, core connections and safety considerations, laying a foundation for moving to our other Pilates Tower classes.
Buckhead/Westside
In level II and level III tower class, you also warm up with Pilates mat work and move to the tower. Since participants already have a good working knowledge of the mat and apparatus work, you will move quickly through the exercises for a challenging workout. Prior Tower class experience and/or permission of instructor required for enrollment.
